Browns Chapel  United Methodist Church particpates in both local and international missions.

Habitat For Humanity

Periodically we send a work team out to support the Habitat Housing Program.  No prior experience is needed and lunch is provided.  In addition, we provide cash donations to be used for building affordable housing in Chatham County.  Also, we have started providing meals for college students volunteering for Habitat during their spring break.

Cora Food Pantry

Every 5th Sunday we collect shelf - stable foods for the food pantry.  In addition, this year during April, we are participating in CORA’s Blessing of three meals a day! Food Drive Campaign, collecting food every Sunday.  Also, we provide cash donations through fund raising activities and church member contributions.  A large part of these donations goes to the CORA SNACK! Summer program.

Carolina Cross Connection (CCC)

Yearly we send a church team for a weekend work retreat to support CCC projects in the North Carolina Mountains.  No prior experience is needed and CCC provides hands-on service projects that benefit the local community.  In 2025, we built ramps for 2 homes in western North Carolina.

Bringing Joy To a Child This Christmas

Each December we deliver gifts to children of underprivileged families in need. We work with the Methodist Home for Children, Chatham County Care for Kids, and several local elementary schools.  In 2025, gifts were provided for 54 children and their relatives.

Chatham County Care for Kids

Our church helped form this organization which focuses on homeless and home-insecure children.  Chatham county schools’ workers, counselors, and teachers identify needs and Care for Kids team works with the appropriate person to provide a solution.  We also provide cash donations through fund raising activities and church member contributions.  In addition, our children ministry provided laundry quarters to be used at local laundry mats.

Pittsboro Street Fair Food Booth

Every October our church hosts a booth at the Pittsboro Street Fair serving ham biscuits, hotdogs with all the fixings, and church homemade barbecue sandwiches.  All proceeds go toward our mission activities.
